Michelle Smith

Assistant Director of First Kids

Michelle Smith is our Assistant Director at First Kids. She came to First Kids in the summer of 2003 to do an internship for her business degree in college and after graduating in May of 2004 she came back as full-time Assistant Director.

 

Michelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Non-Profit
Management from Earlham College and minored in Psychology. Michelle also has the Kentucky Director’s Credential which she completed in 2006. In the spring of 2008, she was awarded the Carol A. Holt Director of the Year award from the Kentucky Coalition for School Age Child Care for her work with the afterschool program at First Kids.

While at Earlham College Michelle was a 4-year starter on the Women’s basketball team, a scholar athlete, and a team captain. Michelle also scored over 1000 points in her college career and was a member of the winningest team in school history.

Michelle was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio with her parents and twin sister. After graduating from Earlham Michelle moved to Louisville to be with her husband Jason; they met at Earlham College and Jason was on the Men’s basketball team. They married in June of 2005 and they have 3 children; Cameron, Ellie, and Adelynn.
