FCC and Our Muslim Neighbors Pledge That We Will Not Be Enemies

For the past three years, First Christian Church of Louisville has been building relationships with our local Muslim community.

We have served together, prayed together, and enjoyed fellowship together.

That journey continued this year when our Muslim friends at the American Turkish Friendship Association invited members of our church to join them for an Iftar, which is the daily breaking of the fast during Ramadan.

As the video above shows, our time together was one of gaining understanding, growing in relationship, and eating some incredible food that was prepared by our hosts. It was also a night when both communities of faith pledged that We Will Not Be Enemies.

In a world where some have distorted the message of Islam by committing unspeakable horror, it is essential that we not allow the actions of those evil few to shape how we see an entire religion.

The way of Christ is one of peace, grace, and the sharing of faith in ways that build bridges with others - especially those who are different from us.

We are currently planning future events and hope that you will continue to help us heal the world through meaningful relationships.

The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
