FCC Funds Camp Experience for Members of Louisville Youth Group

Louisville Youth Group (LYG) is the primary LGBTQIA+ nonprofit community serving LGBTQIA+ youth in Kentuckiana. LYG provides a safe space for gender and sexuality diverse young adults to grow their identities, learn leadership skills, and develop the tools needed to both thrive personally and to act as agents of change in their communities.

Each year, LYG offers youth the opportunity to attend Camp Piomingo. This is one of the only opportunities for youth to have a 'normal' youth experience without the barrier of homophobia, transphobia, or genuine unknowing that can often happen in cisgender heteronormative spaces. Youth are able to attend this camp free of charge for a weekend of games, campfires, hiking, and care cards (just like FCC YG!).

FCC was pleased to partner with LYG again this year to provide a Wholeness Grant for use towards the coverage of transportation, background checks for the staff, camp fees, food, and a hoodie for each youth. In the past, FCC provided Wholeness Grant funds for new flooring for the LYG offices.

The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
