FCC Helps to Bring Joy Across the Globe
The congregation of First Christian Church has supported Operation Christmas Child, a shoe box ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, for many years. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world by sending a message of hope and love in the form of a shoe box full of small gifts. This outreach program provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be involved in a very simple, hands-on mission project. FCC’s Operation Christmas Child wrap up celebration creates a church fellowship event where people from all generations come together to fill the shoe boxes and prepare them for shipping. Through the years First Christian Church has provided thousands of Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes to Samaritan’s Purse and while many of the donations come from church families, financial support for the ministry has come in the form of wholeness grants from FCC as well. If you would like more information about how you can get involved, please feel free to e-mail church member Linda Wise. She has facilitated this ministry for several years and does a great job. Thanks Linda! The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
