FCC Member Helps to Fight Leukemia and Lymphoma
Twenty years ago, First Christian Church member Greg Scales' father was diagnosed with Leukemia. Thanks to the efforts of organizations like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Greg's dad is alive today and doing well.
With that special connection, joining the 2015 Man/Woman of the Year campaign was an easy choice for Greg, though the work ahead was hard. With a lot of energy, effort, and fundraising activities he was able to raise almost $16,000.00. A wholeness grant from FCC was part of that total.
Pictured in the slideshow above are Greg and his parents, Addie Roberts - a young girl currently battling this illness, a trivia night fundraiser, a local bank support team, and that bank's effort to help raise money through "blood drop" donations.
With the other participants in this year's effort, $325,000 was raised to help fight Leukemia and Lymphoma, which was a record for the Louisville chapter. To learn more about their effort, click here.
The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
