FCC Member Uses Ice Cream to Bring Joy to Dementia Patients

One of the small joys for dementia patients at a local nursing home was the soft serve ice cream residents received as part of their engagement with social workers and therapists.

When the machine broke this year, this helpful therapeutic tool and source of joy was lost. A wholeness grant written by church member Cheryl Cubbage helped to purchase a new machine.

Ice cream may seem like a small thing, but according to the social worker who uses it, it is often one of the few things that will elicit engagement from the patients who receive it.

The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
