First Christian Makes a Big Impact Through a Big Day of Serving

The Big Day of Serving was just that - A Big Day of Serving! On Saturday, October 3, 2015 over 100 youth and adults from as far away as Chaffee, MO came to Louisville to help make a difference throughout our city.

Participants cleaned and painted Community Centers (Shelby Park, Iroquois Park, California Park, South Louisville Community Center) cleaned parks, moved furniture and cleared out a very large storage room at Wayside Christian Mission’s Louisville Hotel, and cleaned and help organize and file materials for Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Yet another team worked to clean trails for the Louisville Nature Center. Funds raised by the team were also used to provide paint and cleaning materials to The Steam Exchange a nonprofit effort to convert a former bar into a community arts center and to the Trinity Life Center.

The video above show the day's action from beginning to end!

If you would like to learn more about the Big Day of Serving, you can ask church member Alan Parsons, who lead the day or you can click here.

The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
