First Christian Member Creates Lending Library for Children
Every month, First Christian Church of Louisville hosts a food pantry. On the day we are open, thousands of pounds of food and other items are lovingly given to members of our community. That food is an essential piece of our client families' nutrition for the month. Of course, the needs of our families often extends beyond food. Seeing an opportunity to provide something of meaning and of value to our food pantry friends, church member Kathy Olliges used a wholeness grant to build a lending library for the children of our food pantry. As you can see in the photos above, the library is well stocked and is being well used. What a gift to be able to feed the minds, and the bellies, of some truly remarkable young children!
If you are interested in learning more or want to get involved with this ministry, do not hesitate to contact Kathy. She is considering the possibility of expanding it to other food pantries in the area!
The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
