Food Literacy/Family Farm Day
The Food Literacy/Family Farm Day wholeness ministry enabled families at the Parkland Family Scholar House to experience a day of educational activities at Oxmoor Farm. In doing so, they learned about the importance of healthy food and where it comes from.
About thirty people from Louisville's Parkland Community, including the Parkland Family Scholar House, pariticipated.
The mission of the Family Scholar House is to support families who have parents working to further their education and to rise out of lower incomes. Church member Cheryl Cubbage planned, organized, and helped lead the event.
As the video above shows, it was a fun day for everyone involved.
Here are some things participants had to say about the day:
" Lunch tasted amazing and was very appreciated."
" Pickles are delicious!"
"Growing and picking vegetables makes you proud."
"Sunflowers make you happy."
"I have a new appreciation for worms!"
"Trying new things to eat is fun."
The wholeness grant used to fund this ministry was made possible through your faithful financial support of our church and its ministries and help fund a variety of efforts to make our world a better place.
