January 25 Letter from the First Christian Church of Louisville President

This week we have some good news to share in the search for our senior minister. The search committee is set and we are very happy that these 8 people have agreed to take on this important responsibility.

The search team is led by Alan Parsons, a long-time member of First Christian who has held many positions within the church. He is an elder of our congregation, and currently a member of the Stephen Ministry team as well as a church trustee. Joining Alan, are Gary Fogle, Gracelyn Jack, Kathy Olliges, Patty Rankin, Scott Lanter, Tonya Bordy and Amanda Stratton. All of these church members are dedicated to First Christian and the work ahead of them in finding the person who will lead our church in the coming years. They also represent a cross section of church services, gender and age groups. Our first meeting is set for Wednesday night. Please give this group your support and your prayers.

Each of our e-news letters will also include a checklist of the steps that need to be taken and those already accomplished so everyone can easily see the progress that is being made in the search for a senior minister.

The search for an interim minister continues. We are receiving resumes, recorded sermons and setting up interviews.

This week I thank Mike and Kelli Lorenzen for sharing their open letter to the congregation on why FCC is their church home. Letters will be published each week and I invite anyone who would like to join in the celebration of why we love FCC to send me their letters. You can reach me anytime at mswan8@yahoo.com.
