Stephen Ministers November 2021
by Penny Brill
What an exciting time to be grateful and thankful in our church, our community and
our state. We have been in the talented, caring hands of Terry Minton and are being shepherded into the hands of Amanda Wagoner-Meade. Terry has faithfully helped to hold FCC together in a very challenging time. We can not be more appreciative for his work.
We are hopefully seeing a light at the end of this pandemic period. While we may never enjoy life as it was pre-pandemic, we are certainly headed in the direction of a new normal. We have much to be thankful for in the science that has guided us to this point. The loss of so many souls and toll on so many heroes has affected us all, each in our own way. There can be no diminishing the change this has caused in so many lives.
We are thankful for the support and power God offers each of us to get up every day and put one foot in front of the other. It has not been easy, and the struggle is not over. We can pray for others and thank God for the refuge he provides.
If you are having a difficult time dealing with each day, sometimes each hour, due to losses; of loved ones, of a job, or of a way back to God, Stephen Ministry is available to you. We are trained to walk beside you, to listen non-judgmentally to your own story, to offer a glass of cold water when you thirst for a life that has changed. All of this in the safety and confidentiality of your relationship with a Stephen Minister.
This ministry is only a call away to the church office or a conversation with a staff
member of FCC. You will be put in touch with the program.
We are thankful for this season and the opportunity to serve others in the many ways our church offers.
"Draw near to God and he will draw near to you..." ~James 4:8
