Tommy Cook
Music Minister
As the Minister of Music, Tommy Cook combines his passion for music and love for the church. His primary responsibilities include leading the congregation in worship and directing the worship band.
Having grown up in the Disciples of Christ tradition, he has served as a leader in Kentucky’s regional camps, youth events, and assemblies. At the University of Louisville, he earned a degree in Music Performance - primarily studying classical guitar. Afterward, he spent two years studying at Lexington Theological Seminary while serving Beargrass Christian Church as a Youth and Worship Intern.
Before arriving at First Christian Church, Tommy served for five years in Southwest Louisville as the Minister of Music at The Valley –a satellite of Middletown Christian Church. During the same five years, he worked full time at Stock Yards Bank as a service associate.
Tommy has taught guitar lessons through the Music Academy at St. Francis in the Fields, as well as independently. He has performed in several bands from Rock to traditional Irish music, played in multiple pit orchestras for musical theatre, and provided ceremony music for many weddings. He is married to his lovely wife Katie, who teaches music and often sings with him in worship.
